“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” -Neil Armstrong
Fifty years ago Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first two people to step foot on the moon as part of the NASA Apollo 11 mission. A landmark achievement that made the United States the de facto winner of the space race with Russia, and opened up the world to the Space Age. Since Armstrong and Aldrin, there have only been five other manned missions to the moon.
The Map Collection includes maps and globes of the Moon and Mars, geologic maps of Venus, star charts, and other celestial maps.
