Request Scanned Articles or Chapters
Request scans of materials from UC Davis, UC system libraries, or other libraries around the world via interlibrary loan
Even with more than 10 million items in the UC Davis Library or stored at one of the two UC-system storage facilities, users still find need for materials not available in our collections. The library’s Interlibrary Loan service borrows materials from other libraries around the world for UCD faculty, staff, and students to support university research, teaching, coursework, and patient care needs.
In addition to borrowing items from other libraries, Interlibrary Loan is also able to scan copies of physical articles and chapters to provide digital access to the things you need.
We recommend getting familiar with our Interlibrary Loan policies before initiating a request for items at another institution.
How to Make a Request
If the needed article isn’t available online, click
- If UC Davis owns the source, use “UCD digitization” to request a scanned copy of the item.
- To request material from other libraries, use “Request through Interlibrary Loan.” Use the Comments field to indicate special information such as “patient care” or “supplemental material needed.”
- Users with patient care rush requests should also call 530-752-1978 to notify Interlibrary Loan staff of the request.
Service Fees for Scanned Items
This service is provided free of charge to UC Davis faculty, staff and students.
